Van Basten (NED): Scotland are very dangerous
Marco van Basten, Netherlands (coach):
"It's not easy, that's for sure. In the last qualifying groups we've had, it's been against teams in the south-east of Europe. Now we're facing teams in the north-west and that brings something different in terms of our opponents' way of playing. We have to prove we can beat them too even though they are really good teams. Scotland are very dangerous at the moment, especially over the last two years, and we have to be very careful playing against them. But it was a nice experience in Germany last year and we hope very much that it will be possible for us to be here in South Africa."
Alex McLeish, Scotland (coach):
"I'm always philosophical about draws in any competition because it's something you can't control. So my feeling is: bring it on. Let's go for it, it's a great challenge and we have to try and go one better than we did in EURO qualifying. We'd have taken Italy, or France - we beat them home and away, so they're easy! Seriously, we rose to that challenge and we also played Italy off the park in the second half at Hampden, but we also need to find the kind of resilience these teams have. Geographically, the draw's fine for us but we know the games themselves will be really tough."
Lee McCulloch, Scotland (Midfielder):
"This is not a group that should scare Scotland. Maybe two years ago we'd have looked at it and got frightened by the prospect. But things have changed. We have a team again now and we really believe in ourselves. This group is not going to be easy but if we work as hard as we did in the last section then I truly believe we can do it. The whole country is behind us again and it really is about time that we stopped falling short."
